Theron Schutte receiving award

The Marshalltown Community School District is proud to celebrate Superintendent Dr. Theron Schutte, who has been named the 2025 Board Member of the Year by Junior Achievement (JA) of Central Iowa.

Schutte has served as a dedicated member of the JA Board of Directors since 2016, where his leadership and commitment have left a lasting impact. As Co-Chair of the Education and Workforce Committee and a member of the Executive Committee, Schutte has helped guide efforts to prepare students across central Iowa for success in school, careers, and life.

“Dr. Schutte's personal generosity, his leadership on committees and MCSD's partnership has been outstanding,” said Junior Achievement of Central Iowa President Ryan Osborn. “His insight, leadership, and vision have made a tremendous difference for students and communities across our region.”

This fall, Schutte will take that commitment one step further by bringing Central Iowa’s first 3DE by Junior Achievement instructional model to Marshalltown Community School District. The innovative program, designed to connect classroom learning with real-world business challenges, will provide students with unique opportunities to build problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership skills.
